Haverhill Council Approves E‑Bike and E‑Scooter Impound Ordinance
On Tuesday the Haverhill City Council voted unanimously to give the city police authority to remove electric bikes and scooters left on property owned by the city. The ordinance allows the police department to take custody of those devices and hold them at the police station.
Haverhill Police Lt. Kevin Lynch said that, under the new rules, only a parent or guardian will be allowed to pick up impounded devices. The change establishes who may reclaim seized e‑bikes and e‑scooters and applies specifically to items found on city property.
