Boxford Opens One-Month Review Of Updated Electricity Aggregation Plan
The Town of Boxford has opened a one-month public comment window on an updated aggregation plan for its Boxford Community Electricity program, with the review period running through November 8, 2026. The revisions align the town’s plan with the Department of Public Utilities’ new Guidelines for Municipal Aggregators, issued in July 2024, and were designed to let the town change plan formatting without lengthy DPU review, strengthen annual performance reporting, and add flexibility for new supply options. Boxford’s program has been active since June 2024 after DPU approval of the town’s original plan in December 2023, and locking a fixed supply rate has provided participants more predictable costs and delivered savings.
Both the revised and current plans are available at BoxfordElectricity.com, which also includes a form for written comments. You may email support_ma@goodenergy.com and put Boxford Plan Comments in the subject line. Good Energy, the consultant that manages the program, says participating residents and businesses have saved nearly $1 million versus National Grid’s Basic Service since the program began. This notice was submitted by Matthew Coogan, the Town Administrator and CPO. For questions, the Select Board Office can be reached at 978.887.6000; the town address is 7A Spofford Road, Boxford, MA 01921.
